Coaching

Live if full of choices! It's up to you to make the most of it!

I coach people on life and work questions, aiming at transition in whatever area they need. My role as a coach is to facilitate you to find your anwers and solutions. Not to solve your problems.

Coaching Philosophy

Combining my experiece in consultancy with my knowledge from business (school) and psychological research, I give people insight into paterns of thinking, feeling and doing in their life and in the communication they have with others.

I coach based on the co-active coaching philosophy and method. This is developed by the reknown CTI institute. CTI is a non-profit organisation focusing training coaches and leaders around the world. I regularly travel to London to train myself as well!

If you are interested in the (amazing) co-active model, please check out this link.

A good coaching question?

The question you have for your coach can be very concrete.... or not at all. It does not matter. During the session, we will unravel what is important to you and what you really want to be working on.

It could be a specific work-related question. You got a new job in the company, or you want to do something completely different from what you are doing now. It can also be about other challenges in your life: Your relationship, or lack of it, the need for more balance or maybe a clearer purpose in your life.

These are just examples. Maybe you recognize them, maybe not. Maybe something completely different is bugging you. The only way to find out if I can be of assistance, is to have a chat. So don't hesitate to contact me!

How does it work?

Key to a strong coaching outcome is the relationship between you, the coachee, and the coach (being me). We first have a talk to get to know each other (free of cost) and discuss your coaching question and find out if we 'click'. On the basis of that you decide if you want to continue and I will let you know if I can assist you with your question.

We will plan for three coachingsessions with 3 tot 5 weeks in between. This number and frequency of sessions is necessary to build up a coaching relationship and to be able to get some concrete results as well.

Cost per session (max 60 min) is 125 euro. Sessions can be face-to-face, at my location in Utrecht or Amsterdam, but can also be over the phone. I can also come to you (based on a rate per km).

Client references

Below, you will find a number of references from clients I have had the pleasure to work with. It gives you an idea about what coaching means and brings to them.

Ferry, Manager at one of the Dutch Ministries (NL):

“The coaching with Martijn helped me in being aware of the role I have in relationships and the first impression I give. Besides insights from models and theory, his gave poignant feedback about what stood out in my answers and reactions. He asked the right questions to create spin-off between the coaching sessions. Personal contact via email or phone to remind me of my ‘thinking’ homework, gave an extra boost. Lots of gains from a limited number of sessions!”

Beverley, independent marketing expert and coach (UK):

"I feel much more secure in my decision making processes now. Where previously, I was full of self doubt about (seemingly) everything I did, I now trust myself and am truly confident because Martin has taught me how to be in control and make choices rather than react to circumstances. He is also very funny and brings humour to what can be fairly traumatic conversations whilst guiding me to change the way I manage my life and priorities. I can’t recommend Martin enough, he is a wonderful and insightful coach and could change your life. Give him a call !"

Donald,Partner at an international consultancy firm (UK & NL)

“The coaching with Martijn got me moving again. I was stuck in my work, in my relationships – dating, with friends and with my family – basically in my life. My job is very demanding and being in a management role gives me the opportunity to completely dive into work without paying any attention to myself and my own needs. I became unhappy, angry and unfulfilled. With Martijn I looked at what really matters to me. What lies underneath all the work and stress and the haphazard contacts I have with the people around me. I started to exercise again and am taking better care of myself – mind and body. I am focused on the quality of the work I do, not on the number of hours I make. It’s easy to fall back into old habits, but after each coaching (or reality-check), I feel empowered again to do what I believe matters and to set my boundaries. Martijn is a great challenger and coach to have beside you when you’re in a process of change.”
